Common Questions

  • Yes, we take several insurances including, but not limited to CalOptima, Cigna, Aetna, Blue Shield.

  • Online therapy, also called telehealth or virtual counseling, allows you to meet with me from the comfort of your home using a secure HIPAA compliant Zoom link. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions. It’s especially convenient for busy parents, couples, and young adults who need flexible support. You’ll get the same care, tools, and guidance, without the commute.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy for trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. It helps your brain reprocess painful memories, so they no longer feel overwhelming. Many clients experience faster relief with EMDR compared to traditional talk therapy. I integrate EMDR counseling, so clients feel lighter, calmer, and more present in their lives.

  • An intensive is a focused counseling or coaching experience designed to create powerful breakthroughs in a short period of time. Instead of weekly sessions, you work with me for a half day or several days in a row. Intensives are great for individuals, couples, or parents who have limited time and want to dive deep, address stuck patterns, and accelerate growth and healing.

  • If you’re struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, or unresolved grief, counseling may be the right place to start. If you’re seeking personal growth, improved parenting skills, or stronger relationships, coaching could be a better fit. Together, we can decide what’s best for your unique situation.

  • Counseling focuses on healing the past, addressing mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship struggles. A counselor helps you work through emotional wounds and develop coping strategies. Coaching, on the other hand, is future-focused. As a parent coach and life coach, I help clients set goals, build emotional intelligence, and strengthen relationships so they can move forward with clarity and confidence. Many of my clients choose a blend of counseling and coaching, depending on their needs.

  • During your first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and your goals. You’ll share what brought you here, and I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, challenges, and what you’d like to change. We’ll talk about whether coaching, counseling, or an intensive is the best fit for you. Most clients leave the first session feeling hopeful, understood, and with a clear next step.

  • An intensive begins with a personalized assessment of your goals, struggles, and strengths. Together, we create a plan to focus on the areas that matter most, whether it’s repairing relationships, healing from trauma, reducing anxiety, or building parenting skills. During the intensive, we combine proven strategies such as EMDR therapy, neuroscience-based tools, and coaching techniques to help you make lasting changes.
